The Electronic Recycling Association’s Moolah for Macros fundraising program offered to raise money for displaced Fort McMurray residents
Calgary, AB (May 13, 2016) – Just one year after its inception, The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) wants to use its Moolah for Macros fundraising program to raise money for victims of the Fort McMurray fires. The fundraising program provides compensation to charitable organizations, or in this case the Red Cross, for collecting unwanted computers, laptops, tablets and phones and donating them to ERA.
“ERA was founded in Alberta, so what’s happening in Fort McMurray hits really close to home. We want to help.” said Bojan Paduh, president and founder of ERA. “It’s a really simple process; let us know when you want to host a fundraiser, collect equipment, book your pickup of that equipment, ERA will sort and weigh it and then issue a cheque. It’s a great way to rally the community, help some very deserving people and keep harmful e-waste out of our landfills.”
There is no cost to participate, and anyone can host a fundraiser (organizations, charities, clubs, community associations and individuals). For full details on the program, please visit: https://www.era.ca/e-waste-fundraiser/
ERA is also developing a temporary computer donation program for affected Fort McMurray residents, with plans to officially launch the program in the coming weeks.

Established in 2004, the ERA is a non-profit organization directed to reduce the environmental impact of improperly discarded toxic electronic waste by offering accessible services to help corporations and individuals manage their retiring IT assets. With reuse being the ERA’s top priority, every item that is received is examined for any remaining productive life and refurbished for reuse. True end of life items are transferred to accredited recyclers where a nil landfill contribution can be assured. The ERA is committed to supporting local charities and individuals in need through the provision of electronic equipment.
