The Electronic Recycling Association works for the first time with MPP Tom Rakocevic to donate the gift of technology to an organization that cares
North York, Ontario (November 14th, 2019) – The Electronic Recycling Association will be partnering with MPP Tom Rakocevic in North York to bring an organization known as My Community Homework Club the gift of technology. This after school program will receive 12 laptops to assist with their passion to help children progress for the future.
This after school program is run by Ms. Laccona at Northwood Community Centre serving students at a number of schools in the Jane Street and Sheppard Avenue area. For her work, she was awarded a Metro-land Media Toronto Urban Hero award in the Education (People’s Choice) category.
“It’s always great to have the support of respected members of the public for donation events throughout Canada,” says Bojan Paduh, Founder and President of the Electronic Recycling Association. “Having MPP Tom Rakocevic’s support really set an example for the community spreads awareness on the importance of giving back and allows individuals to think on a broader scale when it’s time to dispose of their obsolete devices.”
“I am honoured to be a part of this important and generous donation from the Electronic Recycling Association to an amazing local organization. Marina Laccona’s “My Community Homework Club” has been providing after school homework help and activities to youth in my riding for the past 17 years free of charge. These laptops will be a tremendous help to the students of this great program.” said Tom Rakocevic, MPP of Humber River—Black Creek.
