Last Friday, ERA and MLA David Shepherd partnered together to donate 12 computers and 6 laptops to the Edmonton organization, Oliver Centre.
The Oliver Centre promotes children’s experience of safe and caring environments where their emotional and physical health, positively self identifies a sense of belonging. Children should have open and flexible environments where playful exploration, problem solving and creativity are encouraged and purposely planned. Environments will reflect a sense of belonging where children feel nurtured and supported. Children’s environments will be a place where their communicative practices, literacy, and literate identities are valued and supported.
The Oliver Centre will use these computers and laptops to distribute to their teachers. They will be inserted into their classrooms so that they will be able to do their work efficiently and involve the kids in creating more crafts digitally. It will also help with their daily reports so that they can keep track of the students’ progress and projects.
