Calgary, AB (April 19, 2016) – The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) has partnered with CrossIron Mills to host an electronics collection event for mall patrons and the general public. Individuals are invited to drop off unwanted electronic equipment to be processed. Free hard drive shredding will also be offered inside the mall.
An ERA truck and e-waste collection cages will be stationed in the West parking lot of the mall, across from H&M, for patrons to drive up and drop off equipment. Hard drive shredding can be accessed at ERA’s display inside the mall, next to the community kiosk. All individuals who drop off equipment will receive a ‘Think Green’ reusable shopping tote.
ERA accepts most electronic equipment (computers, laptops, printers, phones, tablets, stereos etc.) and will remove data from all equipment received prior to evaluating it for reuse potential. Reusable equipment will be refurbished to support ERA’s Canada-wide computer donation programs while end-of-life equipment will be passed on to ERA’s accredited recycling partners for responsible final processing.
Media representatives are invited to attend and cover this community event.

About the Electronic Recycling Association
Established in 2004, ERA is a non-profit organization committed to reducing the environmental impact of improperly discarded toxic electronic waste by offering accessible services to help corporations and individuals manage their retiring IT assets. ERA offers industry leading data erasure services, prompt and professional corporate pickup services and detailed reporting. With reuse being ERA’s top priority, every item that is received is examined for any remaining productive life and, if possible, refurbished for reuse. True end of life items are transferred to accredited recyclers where a nil landfill contribution can be assured. ERA is committed to supporting local charities and individuals in need through their comprehensive, Canada-wide technology donation program.
