World Vision Canada (WVC) and the Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) became partners back in 2019. The main reasoning for this partnership was to help children, families and communities receive technology that would otherwise be difficult to obtain due to poverty. Not only, has the Electronic Recycling Association been able to reduce the negative impact e-waste has on our environment through the refurbishment of obsolete devices but they have been able to work with WVC to help children receive education through the eyes of technology.
World Vision Canada is a global relief, development and advocacy organization. They partner with children, families and their communities to reach their full potential by tackling the causes of poverty and injustice. They are a Christian charity. As in, they are on a mission to follow Jesus’ example of showing unconditional love to the poor and oppressed. Serving every child they can – of any faith, or none. They work in third world countries with a mission to help communities develop the perfect recipe for sustainable success.
ERA was able to donate 30 projectors to this amazing organization. The projectors will support the work that is done directly with the children and also the interdisciplinary team composed of a psychologist, a nurse and a nutritionist who works developing family strengthening activities with the teachers of the Centers and in attention to special cases of protection.
We are looking forward to watching this partnership flourish in 2020 and the impact it will have on third world countries. If you wish to learn more about WVC, please click on their website here.
